Preview the Signifier class from Studium | No Exit

We're really lucky to have some incredible artists on our team, and this preview largely showcases the work of Ridd-Li Art (more of their work here). The Signifiers of the Studium will be one of four starting classes. A lot of thought went into how their weapons and form of combat leverages the twisted rites of the Studium, as you'll see.

At the core of this character design was a question: if the world of the Studium relies on ritual instead of magic, how would we design a mage starting class? At first thought, we don’t. Mages can’t exist without magic (its in the name!). However, there would certainly be individuals enterprising enough to use ritual components (symbols, phrases and movement) to harness forces that can look a heck of a lot like magic. Enter the Signifier: a particularly studious class of specialists who have weaponized the Studium’s rituals into a formidable form of combat.

Now, how do we represent these elements visually? That’s where we tapped on Ridd-Li Art to help us bring the Signifier to life. Well, without further adieu, enjoy this preview of the Signifier class artwork from Studium | No Exit!

For the incoming Adept whose greatest strength is their intellect, there won’t be many suitable martial classes. The Signifiers of the Studium would serve as one of very few exceptions. Ritualized semiotics adorn the weapons of the Signifier.
